NAF began with a group of individuals from diverse backgrounds & professions within the Australian Muslim community. They aimed to strengthen relationships among their immediate friends and family through organised dinner functions. Over time, this group expanded and evolved into an extended family that promotes tolerance and mutual respect. They accomplish this by sharing ideas and providing forums that foster cooperation and communication within the diverse Australian Muslim community.
The significant benefits observed from these functions served as a catalyst for the group to establish an executive committee dedicated to pursuing greater objectives. The committee now comprises members of diverse ages, genders, and talents.
As a number of events have passed, NAF has learned that this journey will not be created from nothing. It requires hard work and dedication from its members and volunteers. Over the past year, NAF has become a recognised organisation within the Australian Muslim community. We have learned that ‘time’ and ‘effort’ are the most important investments needed to bring people together for the sole purpose of benefiting the community.
NAF has been actively organising events and initiatives to benefit the Muslim community since 2015. Here’s a breakdown of the events:
Leadership Retreats: NAF has successfully run 9 Leadership Retreats, currently organising the 10th Leadership Retreat. These retreats play a significant role in motivating, inspiring and connecting individuals within the Muslim community.
Family Fun Days: NAF has organised two Family Fun Days. These events are aimed at promoting family bonding and providing a fun, inclusive atmosphere for sponsors, attendees and the extended NAF community members.
Networking Functions: NAF has organised an impressive total of twelve networking functions. These functions are essential for building strong connections among community members, fostering cooperation, and facilitating communication.
